We are having a Charity day!

This year the United Chiropractic Association has decided to once again work with the Trussell Trust, a National Charity who through foodbanks, help to feed people in crisis. 1 in 5 uk people live below the poverty line. Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income, so we at Berkhamsted Chiropractic Clinic have decided to do something to help!

Homeopathy & Kinesiology.  We focus on Exam Stress and how Fish Oil can reduce Inflammation and Anxiety in students!

Scientists have shown that taking fish oil blunts the activation of adrenal hormones that usually occurs as a response to mental stress. When you are stressed, your adrenal glands release adrenaline and noradrenaline, which increase heartbeat and direct energy and resources away from activities such as digestion, and towards your heart and the muscles in your arms and legs. The adrenals glands also release cortisol as part of your stress response, which is involved in blood sugar control, blood pressure regulation, immune responses and inflammation processes. Your body does not distinguish between different types of stress, so it will respond thisway whether you are being attacked by a lion, having a difficult day at work or studying for an exam.

A randomised control trial on medical students in Ohio showed that students taking EPA/DHA supplements had anxiety scores that were 20% lower than those taking the placebo, along with lower levels of pro-inflammatory compounds. Mental stress has clear physical effects on the body, but it seems that those effects can be regulated with fish oil supplementation. Kinesiology can help identify an appropriate supplement for you.
